Our plan to call out rip-off petrol prices is working.

The AA says fuel retailers are now slashing prices twice as fast as before - with 3.75p off a litre in the last 2 weeks.

We'll continue our work to give the Competition and Markets Authority new powers and will not hesitate to call out bad behaviour.

Stepping in to cut Fuel Duty by 5p at the height of Putin's energy crisis cost £5 billion. Now, by encouraging market competition, prices have fallen by 3.75p - without costing the taxpayer a penny.
