Claire with the college heads and Cllr Richard Biggs

On Friday I met Christine Ricketts of Brooklands College, Julie Kapsalis of NESCOT and Lindsay Pamphilon of East Surrey College with Cllr Richard Biggs, who has just been elected as Leader of Reigate and Banstead Borough Council.

This super trio of principals updated me on their collaborative work to tackle the skills gap in Surrey and provide their students with a top-notch education.

We also discussed supported internships for SEND students in further education, capital funding for teaching and support facilities, and resilience among students - all topics that I care deeply about.
