It was great to catch up with the brilliant councillors from Nutfield Parish Council recently. The village is facing a flood of issues from excessive housing developments to unauthorised traveller sites and fly-grazing.
While there’s national momentum building behind our plan to solve the unauthorised traveller development problem, our beautiful Green Belt is increasingly under threat from indiscriminate building.
We absolutely need housing for local families, but I’ve always been of the view that communities should have decisions made by them, not for them.
I’m glad they agreed to look at my suggestion for a Neighbourhood Plan. This will then give them greater flexibility when future developments are proposed.
