Today I visited a site in Smallfield where two caravans were set alight and completely burnt.
Smallfield has been battling with illegal traveller developments and noxious fires in the area.
Tandridge District Council have been deploying stop notices – but the powers we have at a local level are not enough, we need national government support.
As you may have seen from my letter to the Government in November, I’m fighting for the Home Secretary to launch a National Task Force.
We did this with other policing issues which covered multiple crimes and it worked (see the Grooming Gangs Taskforce).

This is about fairness, being all equal before the law and protecting our beautiful countryside from people trying to destroy it.
