Many constituents in Caterham and the surrounding areas wrote to me late last year to share their poor experiences with Royal Mail. At the time I visited the local delivery office to find out the causes for the delays and was told changes were underway.
To see whether any progress had been made, I sent my trusty team to investigate when I was on maternity leave. They met with the Regional Performance Lead, who assured us that changes in management and a streamlined sorting process are improving delivery times. My team also raised specific concerns about delays in NHS letters, so it was positive that Royal Mail confirmed a new NHS barcode will be introduced to help make sure NHS letters arrive on time.
I hope these improvements are being felt in the area. However, if you are still experiencing delays, please contact me on claire.coutinho.mp@parliament.uk, including the specific street you are having issues on, and I will contact Royal Mail to get to the bottom of the problem.
